Grady-White 335 Freedom
Special in-depth feature
overview

The 335 Freedom is the newest Grady White model. This model offers the same 11'7" beam and solid ride as the proven 330 Express and 336 Canyon Center Console. While sharing in the evolution of Grady's other popular dual console Freedom models, it really is a boat in its own category. Grady White worked hard to pack unique, innovative, fresh features and options from stem to stern in this model. They included many of their signature popular options such as the bow thruster, thru stem windlass, diesel generator, and temperature controlled aft fish box, and as always their dedication to safety and functional features is visible through the entire boat. But Grady didn't stop with these tried and true popular options, they listened to customer feedback, and used their over 50 years of boat building history to come up with some new ideas introduced in this newest model. Caribee is proud to have our own 335 Freedom in stock today ready to demonstrate the capabilities of this boat to you immediately.

This boat has so much space, and so many features, that it will find fans from the cruiser, family boater, and Bahamas traveler, along with great features to satisfy the fisherman in the family. The dual console layout has become popular to many boaters who seek the full gunnel to gunnel sun protection of an Express, but who do not feel the need to have a full below deck cabin system. The 335 combines the benefits of both, by giving you all the possible amenities of a traditional cabin model, but available on deck in this dual console layout. In the same way the advent of open concept kitchens allowed the whole family to stay together in the home, the 335's layout allows a myriad of boating activities, with no one feeling separated from the fun. The 335 also has a spacious open aft cockpit, with multiple hide-away seating configurations, making it ideal to entertain a group of people, or to have multiple anglers fighting fish offshore.

You must really see the boat to understand just how many places one can find to seat themselves for a minute or hours on this boat. From the signature dual console forward seating (with added converting table), to the Grady patented fold away aft seating, with the L-shaped lounge, extra wide 2 person helm seat, and power aft facing cockpit seat in between, no one will want for comfort. Or get completely out of the elements in the below deck cabin, equipped with optional air conditioning. Located in the port console,  this area converts  from a couch to a bed with the push of a button. Here you can keep small children in a safe environment, be entertained by the TV option, or even stay the night. The starboard console forward of the helm houses a generous head with optional air conditioning, and includes a shower, vanity with sink, mirror, and storage.

Cabin

Grady-White may consider the 335 Freedom part of their dual console lineup, but they may have in fact invented a whole new category of "quad console" boats. We already mentioned the two forward consoles housing a cabin and head, but there is still more to talk about. Topsides you'll discover the generous L-shaped lounge area, with a very cleverly designed mechanical fold up table port side. Behind this is a electric fold out seat, with built in storage area. When the seat is retracted the backrest folds out and down into a solid countertop area perfect for serving snacks, drinks, or for filling your plates for a meal at the other seating areas. That brings us to the starboard side, which houses the helm, and generous padded electric adjusting helm seat with flip up bolster. Behind this is the wet bar area, with pull out trash bin, drawer storage, sink, and optional electric smokeless grill and stainless drink refrigerator. You can put together a pretty serious meal when considering the optional temp-controlled transom box and below deck microwave.  This is a all around perfect boat to entertain friends and family. Also, the boat can be ordered with helm air conditioning, great refreshment during a hot summer day. With the full curtain package the entire interior area can be quite comfortable, especially great for inclimate weather.

Moving into the cockpit, besides the aforementioned aft fishbox, and fold away seating, as well as a hot and cold freshwater shower, this Grady has two brand new features. The first is an electric Sure Shade sun cover that extends from the hard top to provide shade for the cockpit both at anchor, and even up to a reasonable cruising speed. The second is a side dive door. Grady's dive door has a fold-in design with a bracket mounting attachable ladder. This allows optimum use for the door both for getting in and out of the water, and use at the dock or transom of a larger vessel. While we are talking about the cockpit lets talk fishing again. We are in the Sportfishing Capitol of the World, so even the cruiser in the Keys wants to be able to fish on occasion. The 335 Freedom has a surprisingly large blue colored transom 39 gallon livewell, with full column distribution and lighting, rod holders on the legs of the painted hard top frame, and hard top mounted optional telescoping outriggers. With all of that available there is no reason you can't troll a couple of lines on the way to your next destination while those less inclined to fish make use of the many other areas of this spacious vessel. This boat is, of course, powered by the ever reliable and capable Yamaha 350 Horsepower Four Stroke outboards.

 FWC keeps Snook Season Closed

Earlier this week the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission voted to keep the West Coast and Florida Keys Snook season closed for another year.

They had the following to say about their decision:

"If we have a bad winter this year, we will benefit from this caution; if we don't have a bad winter, we will let all these breeding fish come through the slot," said Vice Chairman Kenneth Wright, referring to the snook slot limit of 28 to 33 inches in Gulf of Mexico waters. "We'll really have done something good and we'll have protected some of these fish."

What is your Yamaha Reliability Story?

reliability

Yamaha is asking customers to share first hand stories of their reliable Yamaha outboard stories. They started by sharing the stories of a pair of 150 HP Four Strokes that are now on their second owner's boat still serving valiantly with over 6,800 hours, and the first owner now has another pair they have already put over 5,000 hours on!

Not only that, after Yamaha first posted their story, one customer already responded with over 12,400 hours on a single Yamaha four stoke!

How about you?  How many hours have you put on a single Yamaha, or do you have any great stories of the reliability of your engine?

Share with Yamaha on their Facebook page, and please let us know about it on Caribee's Facebook as well!
