Boat Handling Course for Women

Offered at Cheeca Lodge & Spa by Experts from Bay & Reef Company

She’s at Sea is a program for women. In a private or group sessions, the course teaches women to operate powerboats safely, intelligently, and independently. With 75% of the course time spent on the water, the hands-on curriculum gives women the fundamental skills and confidence to operate family or rental power boats.

She’s at Sea provides basic boat training in a safe, non-threatening atmosphere so women may reach their personal boating goals, including an increased sense of personal and passenger safety, boat handling skills, or to simply experience the joy of being on the water on her own and in charge of the vessel.

Caribee Boats has been a sponsor of the program form day one – and backs their belief in women boating by providing beautiful Boston Whalers for the women to use during the classes.

Elizabeth Jolin, of the Bay and Reef Company, has been captaining in the Florida Keys for 11 years and has been offering the program for 4 years. She measures success by the enthusiastic response she receives from the many students who have embraced the challenges and fun of boating independently.
