The Tournament Experience
Caribee: Always a Top Competitor
Fishing is king in the Florida Keys. At Caribee, not only do we celebrate when one of our customers has the good fortune to win or place in one of many area fishing tournaments, but we also strive to excel in some boating and fishing experiences of our own.
The Caribee fishing team participates is many of these tournaments. Most recently our very own Fulton Ivy, along with his crew of anglers, placed 2nd overall in the
44th Annual Islamorada Sailfish Tournament. Fulton’s team caught and released 8 sailfish during this 3-day December event, finishing just one fish shy of the tournament leader on board the Catch 22. In addition, Caribee owner and President Bill Gilbert last January won Most Tagged Sailfish in the
Cheeca Sailfish Tournament.
In the women’s tournaments, the Caribee ladies fishing team won the Team Challenge during the
14th Annual Original Florida Keys Ladies Dolphin Tournament with Captain Billy Harbaugh at the helm. Bill's wife Dianne, recognized in 2007 for her 20 years of employment at Caribee, won the Most Outstanding Catch trophy in the
Annual Poor Girls Sailfish Tournament for hauling in a world record 26 pound Bonita.
